Should I Be Worried About MRI Showing A Shadow On Rib?
I have bilateral breast cancer - first lumpectomy Sept. 2011 followed by radiation, second lumpectomy March 2012 followed by radiation. Was hospitalized in Oct. 2013 for cellulitous of the breast. Now follow-up MRI shows a shadow on rib - going to have x-rays and bone scan. I'm incredibly nervous, although both my surgeon and oncologist tell me that it is probably nothing ---could be old injury, etc...... any words of widsom?
You have already fought the battle with cancer courageously till now. In the treatment and follow up of cancer we are a bit aggressive in detection so that if at all there is any suspicion, it be confirmed early and treated on time. Likewise even if the rib finding on MRI is not really related to your breast cancer, still it needs to be doubly confirmed on X ray and bone scan. I too hope it is just an artifactual finding.
