I am so confused. I am going for an endoscopy in a few weeks to check and see what is going on. My ENT said my throat looks like it has signs of reflux. The symptoms I have are a scratchy throat and burning in one side of my nose on and off. I feel fine in my stomach but am going for the endoscopy because I was having some esophageal funny feelings before. I ate oatmeal for breakfast today with honey and a banana. Felt fine afterwards and now hours later, I have the burning feeling in my throat. Why would that happen so far after I have presumably digested this meal? All I have had since then is water and now have the scratchy throat. I have some shortness of breath which comes mostly when I am thinking about this so wonder if anxiety is part of my problem as well as overall itching for the last few days. I feel like I am falling apart and this is consuming me. I am menopausal and have horrible hot flashes as well. I have NEVER had any heartburn or acid symptoms before in my life. Any ideas?
1.The possible cause could be acid peptic disease / reflex oesophagi's 2.There are inflammatory changes seen in the oesophagus due to the presence of reflex disease / regurgitation. 3.In this case to rule out all these endoscopy is recommended for better visualisation of the mucosa. 4.If required at the same time a BIOPS sample can be optioned - to evaluate the type of cells. 5.After the conclusion a definitive treatment will be given. Good luck.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
