Should I Opt For Pregnancy Detection Test For Missed Periods?

I am 25yr married girl.I have my periods usually 1st of all months.After calculating the ovulation date and all i have my intercourse in safe period(i think so).Now i missed my period.Its second day after missing my period.What doctor thinks about my menopause?should i opt for pregnancy detection?is this be able through pregnancy detection kit?
