Hi,

If your heart rate is well corrected with metoprolol and you take another medication that reduce blood pressure, it would be a better idea to reduce the dosage of the other medication. If metoprolol is the only medication, it should be down titrated with caution. If the patient tolerates badly dose reduction of metoprolol, we usually combinate it with another medication such as procoralan, when we decrease the dose of metoprolol.
So I would advise you to talk with your doctor if you feel worse with the reduction of the dose of metoprolol.

Take care
