Should I See A Urologist For Lower Back Pain, Fatigue And Blood In Urine?
I am experiencing lower back pain and fatigue, started 3 weeks ago. This came on fairly suddenly. Have had two urinalysis tests which show blood in the urine. CT was negative. Culture was negative. Took a full course of antibiotics. Scheduled to see a urologist tomorrow. Any indication what it might be?
Hello Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have low back pain and blood in urine . This could be mostly due to UTI or stone in kidney or ureter.
Since your CT scan has not revealed presence of any stone it seems to be mostly due to UTI.
Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
