Should I Take A Medical Fitness Test For Getting Driving Licence?
Good evening. I am in the process of getting my driving licence back following a ban and I have a medical booked for January. I have a letter from the DVLA saying that I am allowed to drive now provided I would not fail the medical but that I should check with a doctor or specialist first. Does this mean I have to have a second medical or is this just if I was unsure if I would pass or not? I would appreciate your answer. Many thanks. chris
Hi and thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.
A medical examination would focus mostly on evaluating your vision to make sure it is good enough for driving or see whether there is need for corrective lenses or not. Also, screening for concerning diseases like seizures disorder that can make driving dangerous would be done.
Yes, it would be a great idea to. I hope you find this helpful. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for clarifications or more information if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD.
