Should I Take 'oxetol' For 3 Years To Treat Epilepsy?

hello sir,
one day when i was sleeping i got epilepsy at 4.30 am and in 6.30 am, my friends noticed me and they told me at 7.00(i.e when i got up)
symptoms are:-
tongue bite(left side),foam from mouth

doctor told me that there is a dead cell in the brain and he suggested oxetol 300mg for 3days and 600mg from 4th day to till date and he told to take oxetol for 3years.............

should i take it for 3years or stop.

Hello, Thanks for contacting HCM.
Other than suggestive symptoms , an epilepsy is normally captured in EEG. If you are diagnosed with epilepsy - as you tell about dead cell in the brain, meaning some scan should have been done. If not yet done--- I would advise to get it done. Because other than epilepsy - there are many reasons for getting a seizure - your abnormal movement, tongue bite and frothing. So much of those causes - which may be a curable one - can be seen by scanning.
The normal duration of any anti epileptic drug is 3 years of free seizure free period. Only after that there can be discussion about stopping of the drug.
