Should I Wait For A Normal Period To Start Birth Control Pills?

Hello, I have a quick question, earlier this week I took levonelle-1(emergency contraception contraception), and within a few days I think I have started my period, however because I finished it a few days before taking Levonelle it seems strange. in short would starting birth control pills during this ?period? be the reccomended time or should I wait for a normal one?

Hi

You can start taking birth control pills as soon as you get them — any day of the week, and anytime during your menstrual cycle. But when you'll be protected from pregnancy depends on when you start and the kind of pill you're using. You may need to use a backup birth control method (like condoms) for up to 7 days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
