Should Kidneys Be Checked While Having Vitamin B12 And Folate Count At 382?
I just had a bloodtest and my Folate Serum count was 24.0. My vitamin B12 plus Folate was 382. I am a woman of age 83 and the rest of my blood wrk was all pretty much in normal ranges. My Neurologist suggested I see my Internist and have my kidneys checked. Is this something I should be cocerned about?
Actually, the test result has to be correlated with the clinical condition for which the test is done. Otherwise, it does not seem to be anything that is to be worried. With the age, a lot of changes may found, sometimes that does not have any significant values until and unless proved clinically.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Husain, General & Family Physician
