Should My Child Sleep In Air Cast With Stress Fracture In Fifth Metatarsal?

For a stress fracture of the fifthe metatarsal, my daughter has been placed in an air cast andis on crutches. She is to off the crutches as soon as there is no pain and can remove tha air cast in two weeks and try as long as there is no pain. She has a follow-up in 4 weeks. Question: Must she sleep in the Aircast?

Hi,

I have gone through your query.
Usually it is advised to sleep with Aircast for at-least 2 weeks because there are chances of kicking or leaning in wrong direction while in sleep.
But if you can make sure that your daughter can avoid it, you can remove it before sleep and keep the foot above the pillow.
