Should One Be Alarmed At The Elevation Of Aso Count?
I was recently diagnosed w a severe case of streptococcus pyogenes on my face and in the hospital for five days 1/6/11. My ASO count on admittance was 1,428 and on a test 1/21/11 it was elevated to 1,747. I am currently on antibiotics Levaquin 750mg and clindamycin HCL 50 mg. Should I be alarmed that it is elevated and not going down? thanks, babs
Hello, The ASO titer just reflects the infection that you have with strep. It should go down once the infection is treated. Do not worry about it at present. Regards
