Please ? To change treatment from AquaCel AG, a Doctor prescribed Trimovate for skin surrounding ulcerous leg wound from Leishmaniasis and plain Vaseline Gauze non-adhesive covering over the wound bed. I clearly explained to visiting Community Nurses today before washing with Epaderm and drying. I added that the Silver gauzes are not to be used for 28 days with the cream as it reacts negatively if together with an antibiotic of Trimovate. They placed 3 pieces of Atrauman on my wound overlapping onto skin, after applying Trimovate on skin. On their exit I elevated my right leg and noticed a burning sensation so searched the internet and saw that the dressing forms silver ions on its metallic surface when in contact with exudate. Today being Friday should the Atrauman be removed immediately or could it wait until Monday when Nurses are next due please ?
