Should The Ear Be Treated For Infection Post Piercing With Iron Rod?
If I am out in the boonies and a friend gets a relatively new barbed fishing hook through his earlobe, should I leave it in until we can get to a hospital (days away) or take it out? In both situations I would treat for infection, bleeding, pain and shock.

Regarding whether accidentally pierced earlobe with a fishing hooked be treated for infection I will suggest yes reason to prevent bacteria infection particularly tetanus infection
In view of this please see the Emergency physician immediately after the incident for further clinical assessment and adequate drug treatment
Meanwhile take tablet ceporex pending your appointment
