Should The Implanted Screws In Foot Be Removed Post Lisfranc Surgery?

I had a lisfranc surgery. My question is that my doctor discussed the surgery procedure and informed me that the screws will be place in my foot and later remove. A month later after surgery he said that there was no need to remove the screws. I m totally confuse about leaving the screws as a permanent part of me or should i have them remove. I haven t read anything about living with screws in your foot after surgery and I m wandering if leaving the screws in the foot bones are a common practice with the doctors
