Should The Periods Be Regularized Before Conceiving?

I had a baby in August and stopped Breast feeding in March. I had a period lasting 12 days in April (19-30), spotted for two days in May(19th), and am spotting now (June 4-7). My husband and I want to start trying for baby #2 and I don't know if I am able to or if I have to have a regular menstrual cycle and what I need to do for us to concieve again.
