Should We Not Give Medicine For Throat Pain Of A Child?

My baby (4 months old) cried at the top of his voice a couple of times yesterday and since then he is having sore throat and hoarseness in voice. Its been almost 24 hours since I have heard his real voice. I believe he is even feeling some pain in throat. He is a talkative baby and babbles quite a bit... but has been quieter since yesterday. His Doc told that we should not give any medication but wait for a few days and it should be ok. I am worried as I have never seen any baby so young having hoarseness in voice.

Hi
Welcome to the healthcaremagic
What your doctor said is perfect.Hoarseness in 4 months old babies is not uncommon. It is due to vocal cord inflammation. It is self limiting. Normally it takes 2-3 days to heal.If he screams less then recovery will be fast
Happy to help you
