My daughters father is very sick, he has had an off and on fever for over 3 months now. He wakes up almost every night soaking with sweat and has coughed up blood occasionally. Thrown up a few times as well. Last night he woke up in a pile of blood from just his nose . This has been going on for months, what could this be? Please help me
Hello and welcome to HCM.
Cough, fever and haemoptysis(blood in sputum) over a period of months are mostly symptoms of pulmonary tuberculosis though there could be other causes like bronchitis, pneumonia or lung neoplasm . you have to get his X-ray chest, sputum examination and blood investigation done. He may also need a CT - scan chest to confirm the diagnosis.
Please visit a chest physician and get his investigation done so that early treatment can be started.
Wishing him good health.
