Side Effects Other Than High BP And Sugar After Taking Betnesol Injection During Pregnancy
Hello Doctor, I am 32 weeks pregnant now. My doctor has advised me to take Betnesol injection (4mg) 1 doses. Yesterday to had that. Before taking this my Bp and blood sugar level are normal. After taking Betnesol injection (4mg) my sugar level are high and it's still in higher level. While browsing over the Internet, i read that there will be some side effects regarding learning and development of the child. Is that correct. Please clarify me whether there are any side effects with this. Please help me immediately.
hello, first of all i want to tell u that the named injection is used in pregnancy to make your baby's lung mature only if your doctor is suspecting premature labour mean delivery before 37 weeks.it protects baby from dangerous outcomes of preterm birth like respiratory distress syndrome, brain hemorrhage etc.frankly speaking it is not completely safe for the baby.its a category C drug means no proven risk in humans but animal experiments shows risk to fetus and this can be used if benefits of drug is more as in preterm birth.and increase in blood sugar is a known side effect of this but it is short term.so your doctor will exactly tell you indication for this medication.have faith in him.thank you for your query.
