Significant Decline In Libido. Could This Be A Medical Problem?
Hello Doctor, I am writing in reference to my lack of libido. And now the lack of libido of my husbands. I have tried 3 or 4 different medicines in the past 16 years and yet I can't get much of a sex drive. I have been to a psychiatrist because my doctors thought I had depression which I didn't have and I always told my doctors that I didn't feel depressed. hrough the years though I have had various injuries bad injuries which has caused me lots of pain and the older I get the pain is constant. I see doctors for that too. I wish I had a sex drive because I always enjoyed sex...now I don't think about it but I still make appointments with my husband to have sex because I want him to know that I still love him and find him attractive and desired. Once we get into the act I have no trouble climaxing but I just don't ever think about it and its hard for me to get that arousing feeling. By the way I am 52 years old and my husband is going to be 46 years old and I recently have noticed a significant declined in his libido. He use to want sex 2 times a week sometimes even more if I would give it to him but now he doesn't seem to have the desire to make time for it. He keeps telling me that he is having a hard time getting an erection and then when we are in the act he loses the erection. Could this be a medical problem? Because if it isn't then I know this has to be more. Thank you for any help and/or imput you can give me.
Loss of libido has many causes including medical causes. Medical causes include hromone deficiency, nerve damage by back injury or as a part of menopause of any or as a side effect of drugs like antihypertensives if any .
So you should consult sexologist for detailed evaluation and management.
Treatment would be directed as per cause.
Thanks.
