Single Bump Above Lip,hurts On Touching,hard White Ball Inside.Please Advise.
I have one single bump right above my lip and it has been there for a couple weeks
I have gotten it before and they always hurt pretty bad but only to the touch and they don't ever itch or burn just hurt.
The last one I had I popped it and it had a hard white ball inside that I had to dig out it was very painful I am assuming that this is the same thing because it is happening in the same spot and it feels very similar.
I was just wondering what you thought it was. Is it a cold sore? Or is it something else?

Seems to be suffering from recurrent bacterial infection of the hair follicle(folliculitis/furuncle).
If i were your treating doctor i would have asked you to take an oral antibiotic(penicillin group) for a week.
Application of topical mupirocin ointment over the bump.
I would also advice that you apply mupirocin ointment to the vestible of the nares twice daily for a week. It will help in case of recurrent bacterial around the mouth OR nose by eradicating the responsible bacteria from the nasal flora.
