Sinus Drainage In Back Of Throat. Can Atrovent Be Used?
My sinuses are pouring down the back of my throat . I found a nasal spray Atrovent .06% in my med. cabinet and I don t remember anything about this measured sprays. Should I toss it or is it something you might order for me if I were your patient? I am 74 and have recently been in the hospital with diverticulosis . I believe I contacted this drainage from my 6 yr old daughter who stayed home from school the previous 2 days and was believed to be contageous.
the discharge that you feel behind your nose is called post nasal drip , this is quite characteristic for sinus disease / sinusitis . atrovent is not indicated in the same, it would cause just drying of your secretions . you would require a short course of antibiotics , decongestants . a review with your ENT would be apt .
I hope this helps .
do write to us if you require more clarifications .
