Skin Around A Blister Is Peeling. Is This A Sign Of Bad Blood Flow Or Dead Tissue?

I had a blister in one of my small toes and after about three weeks it is not healed - it has now become a hard skin - dark yellow in color and surrounded by very soft shiny skin - my skin around it is peeling a little - it seems like it has less feeling - is this a sign of bad blood flow or dead tissue - gangrene?

Hi,

I can understand the concern for peeling of skin around the blister.

This is a normal process which is seen in all type of skin injuries, so in terms of a blister also the skin peeling is quite normal.

This is due to the fact that the dead skin around the blister falls off after a period of 2 weeks. DO not worry about bad flow as it is only dead skin and not internal tissue.

If at all you feel any change in color or abnormal sensation then can immediately consult a doctor.

Hope it relieves your tensions regarding the peeling skin.

Take care.
