Skin Infection On Face, Klebsiella, Bactrim

Hello, I have had a skin infection on my face for almost two weeks now. Finally, after misdiagnosed twice and given innefective antibiotics, lab results of the culture show I have Klebsiella and am now on oral Bactrim . Two questions: 1) Is it contagious 2) How should I dress, cover or treat the wound , topically? I have gotten conflicting advice. Thank you, Chris Thank

hello,
welcome to hcm
thanks for the query
since you have klebsiella infection you have to use bit higher antibiotics like 3 rd generation antbiotic and quinolones combination
in addition you can apply gentamycin based ointment locally to that area. Before applying the medication, wash the area with mild soap and water and dry thoroughly. Gently apply a small amount of cream or ointment to the lesions 3 times daily until the affected area improves. Your doctor may instruct you to cover the area with a gauze dressing.use this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.cover the area so that it will not come in contact with others.
hope this information will helpful to you
wish you good health
