Skin On Foot Resembling The Skin On Sole After Using Pumice Stone To Remove Calluses. Diagnosed Damage To Skin Cells. No Improvement From Any Creams. Advice
After I use a Pumice stone to remove the Calluses on top and side of toe, the skin does not return to normal. Within days the skin is had and resembles the skin on bottom of foot (color and all). My shoes are wide and do not rub. In addition the skin colour does not return. Is there any hope of skin returning to normal. According to all (4) Dermatologist that i have visited, the skin Cells are damage and will never return to normal. Do you concur. I have tried all sort of heavy moisterizers. Is there a type of Doctor who would do a little more than respond with a nothing can be done, seriously!!
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. As you have mentioned, the hardness and change in pigmentation is due to friction and trauma. To treat the concerned area, I would advise that you use a moisturiser containing urea and lactic acid as many times as possible in a day. Also apply a steroidsalicylic acid ointment over affected area twice in a day. With regular application, the skin should regain its normal texture and color in couple of weeks. Hope that helped. Take care
