Sleep Apnea. Laser Surgery For Tongue Reduction, Tissue Removed At The Base. Scar Formation Post Surgery?

I had tongue reduction surgery by way of a laser two months ago. The surgeon removed tissue at the tongue base to reduce the severity of my sleep apnea . Can i expect the formation of scar tissue in the area of surgery? And will the formation of scar tissue help to allleviate the sleep apnea by making the throat less likely to collapse while sleeping?.
