Slipped On Icy Porch, Pain In Left Elbow And On Lower Left Back. What Should I Do ?
This morning I was coming out of my home with my daughter in my arms. Not realizing my porch was icy. As I stepped down I slipped down and made myself catch my fall because I didn t want my baby to get hurt. I had a little pain in my left elbow and a little on my lower left back. But now as night approaches I have the worst pain from the middle right side of my back down to the lower and it is very uncomfortable. What should I do? Thank you, AAAAA

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain.
To get relief from the pain and for quick healing:
1. Do hot fomatation at the site.
2. Apply local anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day.
3. Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation.
4. Do not lift weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles. Give proper time for the injury to heal
I hope this is helpful to you.
