Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

As you son is having loose motions it means that he is having an intestinal infection and fever is the other presentation. You need to take care of:
1. Feeding hygiene.
2. Plenty of oral fluids to prevent dehydration.
3. Paracetamol/acetaminophen every 4 hour to reduce the fever if the temperature is above 99F by side.
4. Medicines for diarrhoea as advised by the doctor.
The doses of the medicines shall depend on the age and weight of your son.

I hope I have responded to your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.

Regards,

RKK

Pediatrician, Neonatology Dr. Ravikiran Reddy's  Response
Hello I have gone through your complaints. Your child is having viral diarrhoea episodes. The ultimate goal of yours is to maintain hydration status of your child. So you need to monitor his urine output which should be adequate. You need to give ORS i.e oral rehydration solution. You can also prescribe probiotics with prebiotics. Zinc also helps in decreasing the number of episodes and severity of diarrhoea.first contact your doctor to check the hydration status of your child clinically.
Thank you. Good day.

Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Your son seems to be having infectious gastroenteritis mostly of by a bacteria as there is high grade fever.
You continue the paracetamol syrup in prescribed dosage for every 6th hourly and give sips of oral rehydration solutions to prevent dehydration.
Consult your Pediatrician again for specific treatment for diarrhea.
Hope i have answered your query.
