Hi Sathsh,
Have you done motion examination?
If the stoolsare watery you can get it checked for reducing substance.
If positive yo u can give lactose free milk.
Otherwise no need to stop breast milk.
Give oral elctrolytes
wait for some more time.
It will stop by 6-7 days time.
All the best

Pediatrician Dr. Sudha Shree Venkataraman's  Response
Hi
Is your baby exclusively on breast milk?
How frequent are the stools?
For how many days have you noticed the increase in frequency?

Exclusively breast fed babies are very normal to pass pasty stools, frequency may be even 5 to 6 times a day in the new born period. Slowly the frequency of the stools comes down.
If his weight gain is adequate for age, there is nothing much to worry.
Do you see any redness in the skin surrounding his anal area? That indicates some degree of lactose intolerance.
Considering the benefits of breast milk, I would say, if weight gain is adequate, You can continue to breast feed.
Since he is already 6 months, you can start weaning him. Give him rice based items, vegetable soups to start with.
Try to avoid infant formula and other tinned food. Give him home made food only.
Give him curd, which has natural probiotics and is very good for frequent stools. Do not be under the misconception that curd causes cold. Curd given under normal temperature is very safe and effective.
You can also give him porridges made of rice flour, sago flour and fried bengal gram flour, which is very nutritious too.
hope you find my answer useful.
