Small Child, High Fever, Stomach Pain, White Stools, Dehydration. Low WBC Count. Appendicitis?
Hello, my 3 year daughter has been running fever of 103 going on 3 days. Her stomach hurts really bad she has not eaten any for for 2 days. She had thrown up 2 times and went poop 2 times and it was white in color. We also went to hospital had sono and ct scan and they said it was not appendicitis but ever symptom . The release form from hospital said she has every symptom of a appendicitis that might likely happen. Took urine sample she was dehydrated so they gave her two iv and then took blood and her white blood cells were only at 7. The doctors don t know what is going on. They said if it persist to take her to a children s hospital. Can you please help?
Hi
It is not possible to answer your question without the investigation reports. "white blood cells were only at 7" - is confusing. Is it 7000 / cu mm ? or 700 / cu mm or what?
Please mention the complete investigation reports. We can help you to interpret.
However, Fever of 103 degree C with symptoms of pain abdomen, vomiting, white stools - may be caused by gastroenteritis, typhoid fever, acute appendicitis etc. If your child is not able to take feed , develop dehydration, have high fever - don't waste your valuable time. Take her to higher health facility / children hospital now.
