Small Child Suffering From High Fever. On Crocin, Fever Decreased, Watery Stools, Stomach Pain, Loss Of Appetite, Cough, Cold. Medication To Treat Symptoms?
My daughter is 2 and a 1/2 years old. She was suffering from high fever for two days. After giving her crocin for 2 days her fever has come down but has smelly, watery stools with stomach ache and loss in apettite. She passes stools 3-4 times a day with a gap of 3-4 hours. She has also developed cough and cold in last 12 hours. kindly prescribe as per the medicines available in India.
Dear Nupur,
I am really concerned that your child is suffering from illness.
From the symptoms it looks like your daughter is suffering from viral fever. But an evaluation by a pediatrician is advisable before taking medications. Taking medications based on online advice is not advisable.
Till then you can continue giving crocin every sixth hourly to reduce fever. Give as much fluids as possible in the form of tender coconut water, butter milk with salt, lassi, rice porridge. You can give ORS available as electral packets. Dissolve it in one liter of water and give 100ml per loose stool.
If the child is not passing urine frequently (atleast three times a day), vomiting frequently, drowsy then show it to doctor immediately.
Don't worry she will be alright. Just consult a doctor in person before taking medications. Take care.
