Sore Rash On Outer Thigh Close To Buttocks. Working At A Chemical Factory. What Could This Be?

Hello, my boyfriend works at a chemical factory. I don't know if this has anything to do with my question, but I figured I would include that information. He has a rash or something on his outer thighs, close to his buttocks which is sore and almost looks like acne, but it isn't. He doesn't have an abundance of clothing, so he wears the same pair of pants multiple times a week a lot of the time. I was wondering if this rash was because of this reason.

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
From your description, it seems to me that your friend may be having a fungal infection. It is common in that area especially if he is working under hot or humid conditions. You could use an antifungal cream containing miconazole or clotrimazole. Apply twice a day for 2-3 weeks. Keep the area as dry as possible.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
