Sore, Swollen And Tender Shin With Lump On Bone Due To Accident. Can This Be Fracture Due To History Of Shin Splints?

I have suffered from shin splints for a long time and I recently got in a car crash where I hit my shins on the glove box. My shins were very sore and my right one has a point that is swollen and tender to the touch. The swelling almost feels like a hard lump on the bone. I ve heard that shin splints can lead to stress fractures and I was just wondering if the trauma of the car crash could have contributed to that.
