I thought I would have to ask your advice as I have had a series of problem with my throat over the past month and it's starting to worry me that it might be something more serious.
It started in early October when i first got a fever and cold after 2 weeks I arrived in the UK . Both fever and cold were gone after few days.
I got a sore throat after I recovered from fever and cold-it was not like a usual sore throat I have been experienced before because this is the first time I lost my voice due to a sore throat. I also had an itchy sensation in my throat at night and I couldn’t sleep soundly and I took cough medicine Benylin to help me to sleep.
This went on for about 4 weeks but was not constant, I may have had lost my voice for 4-5 days then it would of went away again for a few then returned again. I visited 4 GPs so far and all of them thought everything seems like a common sore throat and it will go away after 2 weeks or so, I was told by one GP that it was viral and was refused an Xray or a blood test and another GP prescribed me antibiotics Amoxicillin for 7 days as he thought my sinus may have trigger the sore throat.
I also have a dull ache on my neck (right side under my right ear). Every morning I find dried blood in my nose but there are no blood in my phlegm so far.
My voice is still been hoarse but I still do my daily activities as usual even though I feel difficult to speak as I have to strain my voice when speaking. I have visited a different GP this morning and she gave me a different antibiotic Penicillin for a 10-day course. I will only be referred to a ENT if the antibiotic didn't work after 10 days.
I am a 32 year old, F, 62kg, I never smoke or drink, I am worried that I may have developed some laryngitis or some serious ENT problems. Thank you.
