Sore Throat, Sick With Fever And Painful Cough, Ear Pain Also. What Is Happening ?
Hi doctor, I have been having a sore throat for 3 weeks now. I traveled to NY and came back very sick with a fever and painful cough. I took cold medication and pain meds which took away the fever. The cough stopped too. A week later i woke up with right sided throat and right ear pain when i swallow saliva or food. 5 days later I also have a cough with painful swallowing. What is happening to me?
Hi, It seems that you might be having acute right sided follicular tonsillitis giving rise to pain and swollen lymph nodes giving rise to this problem. In such condition I prescribe Azzithromicin tablet to my patients. Consult your doctor and get examined. With antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines you will be alright. Do antiseptic gargles. Avoid cold drinks and junk food. Ok and take care.
