Spots In Mouth, Fever, Blood In Mouth. Is This Hand, Foot And Mouth Disease?

i work as a cna with a elderly lady who went to the hospital for spots in her mouth . they sent her home saing it could be one of two things one hand foot and mouth, or just a reaction from a med she had been on she had been running a temp for about a week over a 100 and not wanting to get out of bed or eat after she came home from hospital her mouth got worse the spots in her mouth were all the way down her throught and in the morning have been finding her with a mouth full of blood . now i guess what i am asking is i am 27 and expecting in october should i be not working so close with her if this is hand foot and mouth and how long does one person have to have it befor others can not catch it anymore thank you for your timee jess

Hi i do not think she is suffering from hand foot mouth disease.because there is no fever in that disease.there is no description of lesions over hand and foot.it think it is ulcers due to fever or apthous ulcers.herpesshould be ruled out.only firts three days is infective stage for that virus.it should be in the person for atleast 2 -3 days before it gets infected to others
