Spotting Followed By Early Periods With Cramps And Mild Pain In Right Side. Is This Due To Stress?

Hi, I'm 17, not sexually active, and do not use birth control. I had my period about three weeks ago, and then five days ago I began spotting, which turned into a flow heavier than spotting but lighter than a normal period. This flow is inconsistent and is sometimes heavier than others; it also stops at night. I do not really have cramps, but sometimes a very mild pain on my right side. What is going on? I am freaking out. I have also been under a LOT of stress recently.

Hi, with this presentation, the most probable diagnosis is dysfunctional (abnormal) uterine bleeding which may occur in the middle of your cycle or at the end. It results from hormonal imbalance and psychological stress is one of the risk factors. In my opinion, I would suggest that you try to control stress.
I wish you good health
