Sprained Left Knee. Previous ACL Tear, Surgery Done Using Hamstring. Is ACL Starting To Loosen Up?

Hi doctor , I recently got my left knee sprained during work. About 10 years ago, I had my ACL torn and done a surgery using my hamstring . Till now, I feel the pain comes back again. And I cannot stand/walk more than two hours. so, I went to family doctor and he wrote me a note for 2 months off. so, is my ACL starting to loosen up? can I still stand and walk for 8 or more hours a day because it is my job requirement.

Hello Jeff and thanks for the query
Yes surely you will be able to do your properly. But you have to follow certain precautions when you are in pain;
1. Keep the leg straight as much as possible or bear long knee brace while walking.
2. Wear elastic bandage in night.
3. Do alternate hot and cold fermentation.
4. Do regular exercise and physiotherapy as advised by your physiotherapist.
5. Use analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs in pain.
6. Take complete bed rest in worse condition.

Hope this will help you. Go for MRI scan again if you have no relief or consult your treating doctor.
Best Wishes
