Stabbing Headache From Base Of The Skull. Prescribed Gabapentin, However Gives Temporary Relief. What Does This Indicate?
I have been on gabapentin 399 mg four days. 2 days before I started it I was getting headaches from the base of my skull on the right side shooting up over my head to just above my right eyebrow. It was sudden hot pain like a burning wire. My Dr didn't seem concerned or wasn't paying attention when I told him. They have been waking me up 2-3 times a night and have them 5 or more times during the day. So far the only thing that brings temporary ease is rubbing icy hot over trail where heat travels. Route feels swollen and bruised.

in cluster headache symptoms are like;
Duration of headache is several minutes to a few hours, Pain is stabbing or burning, Pain located around one eye or radiates from one eye, Recurrence of headache is often the same time every day, Accompanied by nausea or vomiting
Accompanied by restlessness or agitation, Accompanied by runny or stuffy nose
Accompanied by sensitivity to light or noise, Onset is sudden, Pain is extreme
Recurrence of headache is daily.
gabapentin has no role in treatment of cluster headache, drugs which used in cluster headache are 100% oxygen, sumatriptan, Dihydroergotamine, Octreotide.
