Sticking Out Bone After Amputation In Middle Finger, Due For Surgery. Suggested Dipping In Peroxide And Covering. Any Other Method To Save Bone Getting Worse?
I had an amputation to my middle finger that the bone is now sticking through the top. The local Doctor is going to perform surgery on Monday. What should I do to prevent the bone from getting worse? I don't want more of the bone to die off over the weekend. As it is he waited 3 days to see me and it looks worse today. He told me to dip it in peroxide and cover. Is there any other product that may preserve more of the bone?

Hello, Thanks for writing to us To prevent the bone from getting worse after amputation regular sterile dressing is required. If there is slough(yellowish tissue) dip in Eusol prepration( combination of hydrogen peroxide and clorine) is helpful. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
