Stinging Sensation, Lump Formation In Armpit, Pain On Touching. Due To Deodorant Usage?

Hi, I am a 51 year old man, about a week ago I felt a stinging sensation when putting on Deodorant on in my armpit. I thought it was the alcholol in the deodorant. I have a small lump there that has now gotten bigger over the last week. Initially it was very painful to touch, (like a boil ) but the pain is less over the week. However, the lump has gotten a little larger. I work out a lot (cardio) so a lot of movement in that area. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hi,
This can be anything ranging from a boil to an inflamed and enlarged lymph node. If you go on having friction in the area as with cardio exercises then there is a possibility that this might increase. I would suggest you to go and visit your doctor and get this evaluated. A simple boil would require antibiotics whereas an enlarged lymph node might require a needle aspiration given your age. Restrict exercises as of now and keep the area dry.
