Stomach Pain, Nausea, Mesenteric Lymphadenitis, Full Feeling, Burning In Stomach

My 8 year old has been complaining of stomach pain and nausea in the middle of the night off and on for the past three werks. A trip to the ER resulted in an ultrasound with a diagnosis of mesentric lymphadenitis. She is still in a lot of pain and says her belly burns, feels full, nausea after eating and drinking. Should we be concerned there is more going on than inflamed lymph nodes?

Hi. as the child is 8 years old , mesenteric lymphadenitis is a known diagnosis. There may be focus i the mouth or throat like tonsillitis and/or adenoiditis. I hope the appendix, liver and spleen are normal. Other sites of lymph nodes like the axillae, inguinal( groin), neck should be seen. Go for x-ray chest. Continue with the treatment. You have to undergo another review ultrasound after 3 weeks of treatment to see lymph nodes have reduced and the child is getting better. If not - better to go for laparoscopy and lymph node biopsy.
