Hi I stopped smoking nine months ago using the nicorette nasal spray . My smoking group will no longer give me a prescription for this as it cost them money. The problem is that i will start smoking without it do you think my doctor can help me .
Nicotine replacement therapy in the form of lozenges, sprays, gums, patches etc are not meant to be continued indefinitely. The user is expected to gradually taper them off. These are far easier to quit than cigarettes. Now that you have been off cigarettes for nine months, try tapering off the dose of the spray and gradually stop. If not, you can try nicotine replacement products available over the counter.
Please have faith in yourself. I am sure you can remain off both cigarettes and spray. Best wishes.
