Strong, Constant Metallic Smell And Taste In Food And Drink. History Of Knee Replacement Surgery. Any Thoughts?

Two months ago I started having an occasional metallic smell in the evenings. That is to say the air in my home smelled metallic. Shortly after this began, and perhaps totally unrelated, I had knee replacement surgery. Now, eight weeks later, the smell is stronger and almost constant. Most food and drink has a strong metallic taste to me. No one else smells this but me. Any thoughts?

Hello,
Metallic taste in mouth is usually associated with-
Dry mouth.
Pericoronitis due to impacted wisdom tooth.
Grossly decayed teeth resulting in accumulation of bacterial micro-organisms.
I would advice you to maintain oral hygiene well.
Keep yourself hydrated by taking plenty of fluids and water.
Fruits and vegetables has to be included in your diet.
Decayed teeth has to be restored or extracted.
Impacted teeth has to be removed/saved.
