Successful Left Leg Bypass, Chest Pain, Throbbing Arm
I had a left leg bypass 5 weeks ago and would say it was a success. The incision went from my knee to the top of my groin . The blood is flowing to my foot again my calve no longer aches and I m walking freely. I m no longer on pain meds but have been taking Ambien . I am 5 8 185lbs. and 54 yrs old. The problem now is I can t walk a 1/2 block without my chest hurting [I;m actually clutching it] and my left arm throbbing like a tooth ache. I need to lift my arm in the air and it takes about 3 to 4 minutes for the pain to subside.
Hi, Thanks for your query. What I feel is you must get your cardiac status checked including treadmill testing, The pain you are describing is classical of anginal pain. Other possibility may be some musculoskeletal pain, acidity and one severe condition called pulmonary embolism.for which a serum D-dimer level can be estimated. Do ask your family physician for the possibility of the above condition and tests...
Best wishes
