Sudden Pain In Adams Apple, Pain On Touching, Bending Neck Backwards. Causes?

Hi. About 2 mornings ago I woke up with a sudden pain on my Adam s apple. It hurts when I touch it or bend my neck backwards. It s more of an external pain. Doesn t hurt internally. What do you think may be the problem. I plan on making an appointment soon to see an ear nose and throat doctor. But I can t stop worrying about it and would just like to get some feedback right away.

HI I have gone through your mail as you said that you are having pain in your neck at adam's apple which you feel only either touching it or bending your neck backwards,as you have not told about change in voice or difficulty in swallowing thus I am suspecting that you are most probably having Muscuar pain,other possibilities are-acute thyroiditis,cervical spondylosis.you realy need clinical examination of your neck externaly and internaly by E.N.T.specialist,only than final diagnosis can be made for treatment.Thanks.
