I am a type1 diabetic. For the last 5 years my blood sugar levels have stayed constant between 90 and 118. After eating I t would generally spike between 167 - 179 then lower back down to the 90 and 118 level. For last 2 days I have spiked to as much as 324. I gave myself an extra injection of 10 units of novo log and it brought it back down, but I'm quit sure why I'm spiking. If Iive myself an extra shot should I Eating something when I do. Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. You know that , why you blood sugar level elevated and you also control it by 10 units more. This is not good , you know avoidance in diabetes is the best remedy. In my opinion this is not fare. For long time , its result will not be good. Sometimes insulin resistance develops. Good luck.
