Hello, jhaywood94,
Spitting of blood could be from two major sources. If you are coughing up
blood that could mean bleeding from the
respiratory tract, either from the
larynx, trachea or lungs and that could be serious, anything from infection
to tumor or cancer. If you are
vomiting blood, the site of bleeding could be
esophagus, stomach or
duodenum which is the first portion of
small intestine.
This could be from enlarged veins in the esophagus, or ulcer in the stomach
or duodenum or could be tumor or cancer.
You mention that your sonogram showed some abnormality of the pancreas.
This is very close to the duodenum (C-Loop of the Doudenum) and if there
is severe inflammation in that area , it could bleed into the stomach.
You need to have complete set of blood work, blood count, all the liver tests,
kidney tests, tumor markers such as CEA, CA 19-9 etc. also pancreas enzyme
tests.
I agree that you do need to have a CT-Scan or an MRI or MRCP of the pancreas.
I hope you can have the work up done quickly and take appropriate treatment
at a good medical center.
I wish you well.
