Suffer From Fever, Vomiting And Dizziness. On Treatment For Typhoid. Not Better After Taking Medication. Why?
Hello Doctor,
My mother, aged 43 is suffering from fever, vomiting and dizziness from last Tuesday. On Saturday we got her blood test report which reported as positive for typhoid
Widal test:
S. Typhi “ O” : Positive 1:40 diln
S. Typhi “ H” : Positive 1:40 diln
S. Para Typhi “ AH” : Negative 1:20 diln
S. Para Typhi “ BH” : Negative 1:20 diln
From Saturday night she is taking treatment for typhoid but still from yesterday night again she got high fever and started vomiting frequently. Even till now she is very dizzy and complains about severe abdominal pain and head ache along with severe pain in the jaws and is not even able to sit.
Medication that she is taking is from Saturday night
Rabemex - DSR
Ciprofloxacin
Osflox 200
Medomol 650
Could you please advise me whether this is serious and she needs to be hospitalized since there is no improvement even after taking medicine? If hospitalization is not requires, please let me know from when she will start recovering provided we follow the same medication.
Could you also please advice about the diet for her.

For your kind information i will tell you 1 thing,,,1:40 dilutions wont be considered as positive..
To say it is positive it should be more than 1:160...
Your mother is prescribed with antibiotics,continue the same medication..
But you should find out the cause of fever..
Urinary tract infection may also causes fever,,go for urine test..
Is she had any lower abdominal pain?any discharge?if they are present go for an ultrasound..
Regarding diet during fever and vomitings,, take liquid and easily digestible diet rather than heavy food..
Consult general physician for more suggestions
