Hello,
Thank you for contacting HCM with your quiery.
The most significant is the positive family history
of Crohn's. This can run in families and also the
other type of colitis called "Ulcerative Colitis" can
occur as well. With your history of
chronic diarrhea,
abdominal pain,
night sweats and tiredness , I would
not dismiss these syptoms. You mention that the blood
tests were normal. I am not sure if the doctors sent you
for IBD-Panel of tests that include pANCA and ASCA, these
are markers for Crohn's and also ulcerative colitis. You need
a
complete blood count, protein levels.
You need small bowel x-ray series , a
colonoscopy with biopsies.
Initially you may not have bloody stool but depending on the
segments involved , you can start having this as well.
If you have not seen a gastroenterologist , you should get a referral.
You may need stool tests to rule out ova, parasites or other infections.
As I mentioned before , your family history is very important.
I want you to pursue this further.
I wish you the very best.
