Suffered From Keratosis Pilaris. Is Is This Genetic? Can My Baby Have Eczema?

I have always suffered from Keratosis Pilaris but it is just on my upper arms and buttocks . My 1 year old daughter now has similar lumps all over her arms and legs including her lower legs and forearms. Can it be KP even though it is over a larger area? I realise this is a heriditory condition, but hers is much worse than mine has ever been. GP said it was baby eczema and prescribed hydrocortisone , but this is making it redder and dryer.
